Play dates, nature centers, birthday parties, oh my!

I had very little sleep Tuesday night (maybe 3 hours?) and a rough start to Wednesday. My dad was in town and he offered to come hang out/help with the boys. Thank you dad! He took jack to the Manassas battlefield and I got to nap while Charlie did. The week got better, thank goodness! We had a couple play dates and one included the nature center in Annandale which jack really liked. Jack is doing soooo much better sleeping at night, thank goodness. We lay him down, say good night and dip out. That’s it. Took us about a month! Charlie is so sweet and smiley and he laughs a lot! He and jack play together sometimes and obviously that’s adorable too. We went to a birthday party today and had a ball! Mike was working so I had both kids and man was it quite the task! Charlie was due for a nap like 30 minutes after we got there but he powered through. We walked there since it’s close and before we even got out of the street He was passed out! He went right to his crib and slept for nearly three hours! Jack napped too and so did I!

I pulled out the mr potato head from my teaching stuff. Jack loves it.


The kids won these little trophies at the party today. Jack said “cup” and insisted on drinking out of it! 






Jack’s first piñata! He didn’t get it but none of the kids did. He did understand the lollipops and other goodies🤦🏼‍♀️



I made him sit with the lollipop and he listened nicely 






Jack had to excuse himself to make an important business call during the party.

Art show at school. It was super cute- they had all of their artwork up in the hallways for us to see.  My friend Sam had her baby (neighbors) and I’ve been trying to help out here and there. This was when she was still pregnant but we all went together to literacy night at the school so Sam could have a break. It was really cute.  Wanted every single bow in her hair for nighttime. None of them were in when she woke up.  Oh, poor jack. He had a realllly bad fall at the skate park. Blood everywhere, coming from his mouth and nose. I thought he broke his nose, lost some teeth, etc. we went to the dentist to make sure his mouth was ok and some how everything was ok. He got lucky! It was so hard to see him hit the ground and essentially face plant on the concrete. My mama heart was broken.  Some hot days! Back to the skate park 🤷🏼‍♀️ Field trip! His face healed realllly quickly We got Charlie a new mattress so we rode the old one down the stairs 🫣

Jack got one of the quarter award for all 4s on his report card! Lunch with mom and dad in the library!  Look at my handsome boy! He’s LOVING soccer.  Scoot all day everyday  They refuse to walk with us to school. My friend took this pic and sent it to me. Cuties  Wyatt helping Quinn cross the parking lot. We carpool with another family to soccer.  My neighbor Sam had her baby so we were in charge of their dog for a bit.  Date with Babcia and grandpa

Went in for lunch with the boys. Yes, the pizza is still the same from when we were kids.  Charlie changing Quinn’s diaper. But don’t worry, we are now potty trained!  I got a pedi on Mother’s Day and Quinn came. She freaking loved it.  Checking out how the washing machine works  Thais a good brother!  We got to bring cupcakes into Quinn’s class for snack. We sang to her and she felt super special :) Safety first  Quinn walked with Sam to pick up Harper the other day.  Quinn is 3!!!!! I figured this was probably the last birthday I could get away with keeping it low key so that’s what we did! A couple kids migrated to our yard and we had cupcakes :) And some sweaty fun  All she wanted was a dog that walks. Sorry bud it’s the closest thing you’ll ever have as a real dog 😂
