Quinn Gleason O’Neill
The sweetest little baby joined our family yesterday, May 19, at 3:46 pm. She’s so precious and is the perfect addition to our team. I was having contractions Tuesday all afternoon and went to bed around 7:55 feeling completely depleted. I had random contractions throughout the night and woke up having them. When I went for my 36 week checkup I was 4 cm and 50% effaced. I was so nervous with all these contractions that she was going to just come so fast so I called the doctor Wednesday and asked if they could check me. I was at 5cm so she did a membrane sweep and I went right to a 6 (if this is tmi stop reading). So the midwife was like yeah.... you won’t make it another day or two so go home get your stuff and get to the hospital in an hour. They faxed all my info over and mike and I slowly made our way over. The boys were in school so it worked out well! Anyways when I got there the contractions were of course much calmer but I was already almost a 7. Soooo they admitted me and we got to our room and the doctor gave me a little pitocin, broke my water and I got myself a bomb epidural. It hurt like the dickens going in! Like whoaaaaa. They laid me on my side and put a ball between my legs to get things moving. About 50 minutes later I felt insane pressure so I called the nurse and it was timeeeeee. Three pushes later and she was here! 6.13 pounds, 19 inches long and as beautiful as I could have imagined. She’s perfect and she’s all ours! Being she was “early” (by 9 hours since that’s when I would have been 37 weeks) we have to stay and monitor her blood sugar for 48 hours. Mike and I like to dip ASAP from the hospital but that’s not happening this time. We’ve had a couple low blood sugar counts so let’s hope they get better so we can avoid the Nicu.

She is perfect!!!! Welcome to the family Quinn!
