Long weekend

Mike worked liiiike 6 days in a row like a boss. Sooooo I’ve been on my own. Which is fine. But I definitely miss having him around. He’s working his butt off to provide for the family and I keep everyone fed and alive. I feel like we’re both kinda doing the same thing but the people he keeps alive are his patients. And idk if he feeds them or not. Anywaysssss…. Sometimes this blog is just where I come to vent and my posts are longer than usual. This might be one of those times. 

So last Thursday Charlie started speech! I started the process almost a year ago, so I’m excited for him to finally start. Miss Leslie has been with the county for 29 years and you can tell she loves her job. She comes to the house every Thursday at 1:45 and stays for 45 minutes. Quinn was napping so I just folded laundry and Quinn woke up after 1.5 hours so I got her and she fell back asleep on my. I held her while I listened to Miss Leslie and Charlie laughing and talking. This first session was just to listen to Charlie and hear him speak. I told her I think there are more sounds he has issues with than what is on the IEP and she agreed. I think I’m going to ask for them to add them to the IEP. 

Jack also started his speech two weeks ago and I think he’ll hit his goals pretty fast, I can already tell a difference and he’s auto-correcting himself at times


We had two parties last Saturday (referring to sept 3). First was Colin’s from Charlie’s classs). At a park with pizza and cake! 





Second with our neighbor, Tommy at fun land 





They gave the boys these unlimited bracelets to play whatever their hearts desired. Also got
To play laser tag. It was fun!

Mike had a doc appt so we dropped him off and spent time at the used book store until he was done. Quinn fell in love with these beanie babies

Quinn is taking a lovely 1.5-2 hour nap during the day and it’s glorious. Knock on wood. I love all of my kids but my gosh she’s just stolen my heart. She can point to her nose (then find everyone else’s in the room, find her ears/earrings, her hair, can hold up 1 finger when you ask how old she is, says “this” to random objects, follows simple commands, likes to draw and hug her brothers, loves to play with other kids. Idk what else. I’ve seen So much growth in her the last couple of weeks!

Jack with his relay team at the relay carnival!   So after the relay carnival we learn which teams made it to all-stars. The tradition is they go house to house delivering the all-star caps. I did say my kids were asleep in the group chat. Well at 9:30 pm jacks coach knocks on the door. I obviously let him come up to wake Jack up to share the big news 🤣😬🫣 when he woke up he asked if it was a Dream or real life  4th of July shenanigans.  Whirlpool  Eating the Watermelon from the watermelon relay  They’re inside a swimming cap. January and the cruise!!

We were scheduled to fly out early Sunday morning, January 5th. The Friday before our bodies had other plans. We went to life time Friday evening and the staff came to grab me informing me jack didn’t feel well. I signed him out and asked Mike to come pick him up. While we’re waiting, jack tells me he’s going to get sick. I grabbed the nearest trash can and caught the vomit mid air. I stay and swim with Charlie and Quinn and Charlie starts to say he’s suuuper hungry.. which I think he confused for an upset tummy. Anyways, the 3 of us go to chipotle. Charlie barely eats and I’m thinking oh crap. I grabbed a brown bag to have in the car just in case. Well we needed it. The bag ended up Giving out and vomit ended up allll over my car. Boys in bed but both up for a couple of hours getting sick. Then that was it for them. As for me. Omg. Around midnight was my turn. Absolutely freaking miserable.
