Still August

Kids did jui jitsu briefly. So here’s Quinn putting Jack in an arm bar and Mike in his Gi.
Getting ready for our foster

The boys have been really into riding their bikes and “drifting” on the baseball field

Katie arrived from southern Va! We went and picked her up and got her home! We hosed her down asap then got her inside to get adjusted. The kids did great and were so sweet with her.

The kids kept asking for a dog and that wasn’t happening so I thought maybe we could foster instead! Phew what the experience. I joined a local organization and became an approved foster. The organization basically gets requests from shelters in southern, va, parts of Louisiana and other random places south of us. They send a list of dogs and a brief description of the dog. Soooo we chose to foster Katie… one year old friendly lab mix. Phew we learned a lot in the month and a half we had per. Turns out Katie spent the first year of her life in a shelter. So major pack mentality and she was used to fending for herself. So I’m pretty sure we were the first home
She was ever in… her first walk on a leash, first time being loved on… which made for very stubborn and reactive dog. She wouldn’t even lay with us or cuddle on the couch for the first 3 weeks. We all grew to love and adore her and were so sad (but thrilled) when she was adopted. I’m in touch with her new mom so we will definitely see her again soon.

End of summer and beginning of
The 2025 - 2026 school year! Charlie in 2nd and Jack in 4th. Quinn in pre-k at saint Andrew’s and deer park.
